My name is Louise Fisk and I am delighted to be appointed as Drapers’ Pyrgo’s new Principal and welcome you to what I am sure will be a very busy and exciting year ahead. Pyrgo has been on a journey of improvement and, as the new Principal, I am fortunate that good foundations have been laid – recognised by the most recent Good Ofsted report.
I am married and have three teenage daughters. I have been teaching for over twenty years in different school settings in the London Boroughs of Newham, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham and Havering. For the past 9 years, I have been the Deputy Headteacher in a large three form entry Primary School in Upminster. I will bring my experience and knowledge gained to deliver and ensure positive changes for the community of Pyrgo.
My vision is to engage, excite and enable all pupils, staff and the community we serve to excel. I will work towards this vision with drive, passion and resilience ensuring that the community of Pyrgo Priory builds on its current strengths to become an outstanding school at the heart of its community. Through my focused approach in three key areas: challenge, curriculum and community my vision will ensure that the positive changes and support will be in place to continue to move the school and its community forward together.
Challenge - I will continue to develop a culture of high ambition – a growth mindset where we help our children to help themselves to become better learners by developing their learning habits to prepare them for a lifetime of learning.
Curriculum- Pyrgo will offer a first class, outstanding curriculum. Promoting enjoyment in learning through excellence in teaching. Pyrgo will be a centre of excellence offering a broad and balanced curriculum through state-of-the-art facilities that enable us to deliver innovative and creative learning experiences for all our pupils.
Community - Pyrgo will be a centre for: adult learning, lead on projects to foster positive intergenerational friendships, and a hub for families to engage in enrichment and enjoyable activities to ensure the health and wellbeing of everybody it serves. We will communicate effectively with parents and carers to encourage positive home school partnerships which support the work of the staff by ensuring excellent attendance, behaviour choices and engagement with learning.
I believe that mutual respect and building positive relationships are key to a successful and happy school. I therefore look forward to meeting you all over the next few weeks at various planned school events. Please see attached our key dates for this half term. The website will shortly be reviewed to ensure any new information and dates are up-to-date.
