Principal’s Welcome

May I offer you a very warm welcome to Drapers’ Pyrgo Priory School.

It is a privilege for me to accept the role of Principal after Mr Lucas’s retirement and I would like to thank him for his years of devoted service and dedication to the school. This is a very exciting time for the school as we have only recently become part of the Drapers’ Multi- Academy Trust, which enables us to work collaboratively with Drapers’ Brookside, Drapers’ Maylands and Drapers’ Academy to provide the best possible education and opportunities for your children.

The importance of working collaboratively with all parents and carers is key to the smooth running of the school. I am sure you will support us in ensuring your child: attends school every day on time; is ready to learn; is dressed in the correct uniform and has all the equipment they require for the day. I would like to stress that if you have any concerns we are sure we will be able to address them in a positive manner and can assure you that we will always have the best interests of your child at heart.   I will ensure that our staff are professional, approachable and focused on making sure every child in their care achieves their full potential. It is only by working together that we can deliver outstanding results for our pupils to enable them to succeed at the next stage of their education.

As Drapers’ Pyrgo Priory newly appointed Principal I will be guided by our 5 key values of Respect, Responsibility, Enjoyment, Compassion and Achievement which together with our mission statement and school motto “Everything that we are goes into everything that we do“ are  integral to the children’s everyday experience.

I endeavour to ensure that the school builds on its good reputation and continues to provide a happy, secure, safe and stimulating environment in which children enjoy their learning. I will also strive to continue providing an inclusive education that develops the whole child academically, socially, spiritually and emotionally, whilst enabling the atmosphere around the school to be purposeful and promote children’s sense of self.

I am proud of our aspirational culture and desire to be a high achieving school, where all children get the very best out of school life.  We have an exciting and rigorous curriculum, ensuring that children get excellent teaching in the basics whilst experiencing a broad range of subjects.  We value the arts and sport and provide a wealth of extra-curricular opportunities through our many voluntarily led extra-curricular clubs.

As part of the Drapers’ MAT we have a supportive group of parents who want to ensure your children enjoy their time at school and are given the best possible opportunities. FODS (Friends of Drapers’) are always looking for parents to join their group to work in close partnership with the school.
