Sports Premium Action Plan 2017 – 2018

Priorities:

  • To fund qualified sports professional to work with all children
  • To provide a range of out of school hours sports clubs
  • To encourage guided physical activities at break and lunch times
  • Increase use of local swimming pool to host a school swimming gala
  • Forge links with County sporting associations to increase access for boys and girls to specialist coaching, eg:
    o Chance to Shine cricket programme with the Essex Cricket Club, Harold Wood Cricket Club
    o Essex Football Association
    o The FA Schools Football competitions associated with West Ham United and Chelsea Football Clubs
    o The Havering Sports Collective (HSC) – sporting events include Netball, Tag Rugby, Hockey and Football
  • Forge links with organisations catering for sports people with disabilities/injuries – such as Invictus Games
  • Continue to access local sporting organisations such as West Ham United Football Club and Harold Wood Cricket Club to provide coaching sessions and clubs for Drapers’ Pyrgo Priory pupils
  • Provide increased access to extra-curricular sporting clubs, after school and during holiday breaks in February, Easter, Whitsun, the summer break and October half terms
  • Collaboration with Pupil Premium Champion to fund access to adventurous sporting activity – archery and fencing on site and visits to Danbury, Chelmsford and Stubbers Outdoor Pursuit Centre, Upminster.
  • Continue to host locality sporting events of Cheer Leading Festival, Dance festival, Country Dance Festival, Gymnastic events
