Young Londoners High Sheriff Award
Back to Latest NewsIn March I received a lovely email from Drapers' Company asking me to nominate a pupil for a 'Young Londoners High Sheriff Award'. The award was to recognise a pupil who had shown the London High Sheriff's values by their actions and behaviours. The values are:
Play Fair
Be Honest
Show Respect
Take Responsibility
Be Kind
Amy Fethers in Year Five was nominated by staff and I had the absolute pleasure to accompany Amy Fethers and her family to receive her award at the Merchant Taylor's Hall in London. Amy and Mayzi (a pupil at Drapers' Brookside Juniors) are the first London Pupils to receive the prestigious award and received a framed certificate from Heather Phillips, the new London High Sheriff. As a special treat Drapers' Warden, David Chalk, invited us for tea, sandwiches and cake in the Drapers' Court Sitting Room and took us on a tour of the famous Drapers' Banquet Hall before the award ceremony at Merchant Taylor's Hall.
We are very proud of Amy as she always goes over and above to show our ready, safe and respectful school rules. Amy also ensures that our school values of compassion, achievement, responsibility, enjoyment and respect are shown in all of her choices and actions.
