Pupils take part in Country Dancing Festival

Five local primary schools took part in the Harold Hill Country Dance Festival this year. The festival is a traditional event which brings together local schools to participate in line dancing routines that they have learned in the week’s leading up to the event. School’s that participated in this years event were Broadford, Drapers’ Maylands, Drapers’ Pyrgo, Mead and St. Ursula’s.
The dance festival took part on the large field located in front of Drapers’ Pyrgo Priory School on Dagnam Park Drive/Settle Road.
All participants took part in a warmup group dance routine to ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ led by Drapers’ Maylands Performing Arts Teacher, Miss Lawrence.
Individual dance routines were performed by each of the primary schools. Broadford Primary performed a routine to the song ‘Crazy Post Man’, Drapers’ Maylands performed a routine to the song ‘Bring On The Good Times’, Drapers’ Pyrgo performed a routine to the song ‘Cotton Eye Joe’, Mead Primary performed a routine to the song ‘Wagon Wheel’ and St Ursula’s performed a routine to the song ‘I Like It; I Love It’.
